Is it PC to query whether the Para Olympics is wothwhile to subsidise?

We pay dearly for the Olympics but we then have a second event, the Para Olympics. The Olympics is to find the best at each sport. Fastest, strongest, most accurate shot etc. OK the Para's want to have a go but they will never beat the best able bodied. Are we just belittling them where they do the best they can, some amazingly but others not so much. For example I knew someone who was not even a passibly competent jogger. They unfortunately lost a foot to cancer. Sad. But then this person became one of our best athletes in the Para Olympic Team GB in several events both on and off water, on and off track. Should we then have a youth Olympics or over 50's event. Otherwise, can we get more events for less abled athletes, perhaps the over weight, short sighted, 60 fag a day category. I am not convinced of the Para Olympics, can you convince me?
