its so high its as if we not paying anything off it

Although the interest rate (apr) is high, you need to try and pay something off it. Might be worth contacting them and advising them you are having difficulty paying asking if they will freeze the interest. I know someone who has successfully done it. Also depends on your credit rating as to whether or not you will be able to get another card to transfer to, and some card companies don't give a huge amount as credit limit. I took one out to clear some debt and limit was ?750 but has enabled me to clear it.
