my car sits there six days a week doing nothing & yet I'm asked to pay so heavily considering how much I use the car , I looked @ other options last year like insure while you drive but those proved to be hopeless in terms of cost .
thks fruitcake & co for replys , in answer I have a fiat punto small engined but afraid it's my postcode which is doing for me , but the fact I am over 50 & do small mileage none of this seems to count with insurers so I really am thinking of dumping car which of course is what the government want , ditch all car & use public transport , what with permits , scratch off cards , parking bays etc etc it's a pain now owning a car ,, que-sera
What vehicle do you own?
Hi morech, and welcome to the forum.
Have you tried putting a low mileage restriction on your policy? They do vary between insurers, but I've come across some insurers who will go as low as 2,000 miles a year in return for a lower premium.
You're welcome, morech.
Yes, it may very well be the postcode that's the problem for you. All you can do is shop around with as many insurers as possible, this gets harder and harder each year, I know, and you're not alone in considering giving up your car. Frankly, insurers are biting the hand that feeds them!
