Do these policies apply to visitors?

I would like to stay in Scotland for a year. I have diabetes and am 72 y/o

When you say you're a visitor, do you mean you're not resident in the UK?

yes. I am a us resident who would like to live in the uk for a year, perhaps longer.

Thank you for the reply, nkny99. I would think that UK health insurance is only available to permanent UK residents, but to be honest, I'm not entirely sure! I would suggest you contact a few UK health insurance providers and ask them that very question. :-)
