Subway restaurants - Credit cards hacked since 2008.

by , 4 months agoOpen Question

Being in I.T. I was surprised to hear that Subway restaurants have had customer credit cards hacked since 2008 by a gang of Romanian hackers.

It surprised me as it was a simple rdp (remote access) hack straight into the Pos computers at the till and its being going on since 2008.

Apparently as Subway is a franchise all of the hacked systems the franchisees had decided to avoid paying for proper I.T. help and had ignored the Subway head office advisories on encrypting data transmissions.

I couldnt believe this one its just beyond belief that companies are playing so fast and loose with customers info.

And this isnt the biggie this is just the beginnning as I forecast internet e-commerce will be the major cause of all financial crime in the next 10 years.
