Want to sell some old fashioned antique weighing scales. How do I go about it?

Unless you consider them to be antique you could sell through ebay, preloved, local papers etc.

Local auctions would also be another idea or even car boot sale

Try posting your item on a Tesco/Asda customer advertising board...it's free there and you reach a big audience. Give a mobile phone number if you have one so a would-be purchaser can contact you easily. And use the word Vintage rather than old fashioned. Good Luck.

Hi sandim and welcome to the forum.

It all depends on whether these scales have true 'antique' value, what their perceived value is and what you hope to get for them. If they have a true antique value, then perhaps you should run them through a local antique sales room with an idea of an acceptable reserve before they go to auction. That is assuming they have any real value. But as I always say, they are worth only what someone is prepared to offer.

Do you have an idea of what you are expecting? You could try them on Ebay, remembering to have clear pictures and descriptions of the item, and put a starting price at what you would like to achieve as a minimum. Having said that, you would really need an insight into what they may achieve elsewhere. And I suspect you may have to advertise as 'local pick up' as carriage costs may be prohibitive, assuming the item is bulky and heavy.

AS I said, it all depends if you feel they have a value that fits their age. You could be surprised, you could be disappointed!
