It doesn't make sense to be penalised for using more environmentally fuel as encouraging many thousands alone would increase its usage and Treasury revenue income which should mean lower price per litre rhan unleaded .
Its a con CS, they persuaded us all that diesel cars were cheaper to run and then they put the price up!!
My understanding is that modern clean diesel is expensive to produce and that it's taxed more than petrol.
I heard that petrol and diesel were taxed at the same rate and the price differential between petrol and diesel has crept up simply as a result of the increasing popularity of diesel fuel and the petrol companies' pricing structure to maximise profits on that scenario.
