I thought the talent on show in 2011 has been overall less than flattering and barely hitting the average mark.
Whatever you think about this show, it is designed to do one thing and that is generate income, lots of it. How genuine the 'singing' is depends entirely on how genuine the contestants are and I have to say that we have had some cracking finalists this year .... I must admit to not having been fans of Little Mix to date but I felt they did a sterling performance tonight and probably deserved the top place on the podium. And I felt that they appealed to a much broader audience than say Girls Aloud whose appeal I could never understand.
Marcus Collins had a lot to offer too but Little Mix had obviously worked damn hard to hone their performance to win the nation's heart. And remember they were 'put together' as a 'second chance' experiment so you have to admire the gloss that they have acquired.
I actually think the show has been well above average this year and no doubt had the viewing and voting figures to reflect this.
x- factor will be a excuse whether it will succeed or not !
As they say in this country, zutou, you can't please all of the people all of the time, but you can please some people some of the time!
I never watch the above, but I thought it was a way of promoting 'new acts'. Imagine my suprise when on the snippets I've seen of it all acts sing covers of already released songs. In my view it is just one big, well marketed karaoke contest. I see on the BBC they are reporting a 4million person drop in viewing figures for the final
the latter
Simon Cowell is a money making machine. He put together the X-Factor to simply make money. However, I do find it entertaining and it does uncover some genuine talent. Unfortunately, it does become a bit of a circus though and I think it would be great if people could also try out some of their own material on the show.
I've never ever watched it, cannot get my kicks from seeing other peoples emotional upsets and disappointment. I don't watch much TV generally, prefer my books :)
