One member of Buckingham Palace clearly thinks so.

Windfarms are useless ! When you consider, even when working at their optimum efficiency, you require 10 thousand of them to equal the output of a medium sized coal, gas or nuclear powered power station. Surely that shows just how useless they are when they very rarely work at this level of efficiency. The wind just does not blow steadily enough for them to be of any use.

Each land built generator costs approximately one million pounds and those offshore considerably more not only to construct but also to maintain. The only people who say windfarms are wonderful are the manufacturers, Siemens.

Tidal power is a much better idea but harder to implement.
