an allergic reaction to something that left me looking like I'd had a face peel! The one thing that clears my head and always leaves me feeling better is a long walk with the dog followed by a drink and a good book. What works for you.................?
Much the same, Jazzj, a long walk in the countryside with my best friend. Doesn't matter what the weather's like, we just wrap up warm if it's cold, and we don't even mind getting soaked in the rain sometimes!
A good book works for me too!
Yes, I think that would do for me too. Except that if I've had bronchitis or similar I find I can't walk very far at all without feeling very poorly so I'd drive to somewhere nice then have a little stroll. The fresh air is always good.
First time I've ever had it Roseangel..couldn't believe it lasted so long!
I had a best chest which turned into flu a couple of month's ago Jazzj and it lasted for a month and left me very weary and tired and lethargic. My husband is just getting over the flu and it has knocked him flat.
Been off the antibiotics two weeks now and I could still sleep for England given the chance! Hope Mr S feels better soon and that you don't wear yourself out again running around after him. Best plan is to curl up on the sofa together I think!
Good for you Jazzj and well spotted. Must have been admiring myself!!!!!!!!
I've not got much in that department to admire sabre..and I know you were only teasing, its good to laugh! Skin on my face seems to have ages a good ten years since i was ill, I need a cheap pick-me-up!
I am sorry about your bronchitis. I gather you know what measures you can take to help manage when it flares up. It takes a bit of time and patience doesn,t it. Hop you can build yourself up again when you feel a bit like it.
I like to go in the car up to the seaside and walk along the promenade and watch the fishing boats coming in with their catch. Feeling the sea spray is also lovely and fresh and sometimes you get soaked if you don't jump out of the way. This is followed by a rare treat of fish and chips. That day out really cheers me up and doesn't cost much.
I used to love that, Jazzj, but sadly Mr F can't go walking any more.
I'd definitely go for the drink and good book though!
Hi Feline. I've just ordered for myself for Christmas Martina Cole's latest which I get every Christmas along with Susan Boyle's CD. so I've got what I want. They will be wrapped up so I'll look surprised when I open them!!!
I've got a nice new cookbook today all about slow cooking so that will be interesting for the winter.
Sorry to hear you are under the weather, Jazzj, get well soon.
How about watching the Mamma Mia DVD and a bottle of sauvignon blanc?
If you haven't got the DVD, maybe just the wine!
Thankd wojtek, gradually getting better, I'm a tough old boot! Would love the chance to follow your suggestion - do you fancy babysitting and walking the dog.........?? lol
Sensible choice Sabre, at least he doesn't argue or answer back!!
my kids cheer me up. that and watching dvds hope u fell better
I'm fine now thanks :)
I used to feel like that about ironing, but what I do now I take the board and the basket out, plonk it in front of the t.v, and sort of work towards it once I have got everything else under way. There needs to be something on tv like an old film or a documetary, as it is boring to just iron with no distraction. It makes me do it more frequently and it's not so daunting. You soon get through it. It's a great feeling.
I don't dislike ironing at all, instinct.
Get some old videos on and get into the rhythm and it's great.
And the satisfaction of seeing, and smelling, all those lovely freshly-ironed shirts is worth its weight in gold.
I usually wait for Jeremy Kyle to come on then I can iron and listen to all the problems and iron at the same time in the kitchen. On the other hand my hubby is good at ironing and if he isn't too busy will lend a hand with it which is fantastic.
I agrre feline, and then there is the feeling of achievement when you are putting little bundles of like with like and stowing away. I like to think it frees up my yin and my yen!
ladies, I have never thought of ironing in front of the tv, will give it a go!
A warm bath, a couple of candles, a big huge mug filled with tea,an early night, getting the ironing done, a plate of home made soup, a walk anytime of year, suitably clad, meeting up with my sisters and/or mum/or daughters.
Thanks instinct, I think most of those will do for me too..don't have quite the same feeling about ironing though, mine's a never ending laundry basket!
fresh flowers and a bottle of wine, lovely hot bath, with my lovely boyfriend :)
