they said they could rent it for us. We have had people ring to tell us that under spanish law we can take them to court. But they want money. We have paid to try to sell it, but have been informed privately that it will not sell. We have been told that if we dont pay the annual fee the company will not do anything. We cannot use the week, we have two weeks already on hold. Please who can we trust
I would advise reading through all your contract papers very thoroughly. You should be able to swap your week for a different one (within the same colour band) if your week is the wrong time for you. Alternatively you should be able to sell it back to the company (if they want to buy it back) or sell it privately (plenty on offer on ebay for example) .... it all depends on your contract and what exactly the terms are. If you are contracted to pay an annual fee there could well be trouble if you don't pay it as you would then be defaulting on the agreement, the company could even 'repossess'. The only way to deal with this is to establish what is written in the contract, ignore what you are being told from whoever is telling you it all ....... you are legally bound by the terms of the contract and so is the company.
Hi rogerst95, and welcome to the forum.
Just to add to Wendie's advice, there's some advice here from the Citizens Advice Bureau on selling a timeshare. Also the CAB have advisers who can help you with this for free, just phone or visit your nearest CAB.
