My ex husband and have a joint mortgage, my credit score is 427 and the report states his 2 two banks searched me in Mar and June

I was recently refused credit by DFS first and then a virgin card, but was able to obtain a Argos card earlier in the year. Is my association with my ex affecting my credit and if so how do I resolve this, I have been trying for over a year to remove my name from the mortgage unsuccessfully.

Hi joshia
as far as I am aware, one cannot disassociate from someone with whom you have jointly taken out financial products. To be able to do this, you need to get your name off the mortgage first. If you have been unsuccessful with this, you may want to speak with your local CAB; they should be able to help. Maybe an intervention from one of the broadsheet's money column may also help.
