Over the last 5 years it has had an up & down kind of ride. Over 10 & 20 years, the shares have risen in value.
As for how successful this share is, depends on what you want to compare it with.
Lets say a share has gained 20% in a year, but if during the same period the FTSE All Share index for example has grown at 30%, then the share hasn't done as well, despite providing capital gains .. and so on.
