Can I get an extension on the deadline paying for a Summer holiday?

by , 11 months agoOpen Question

My deadline for paying for the rest of my holiday is 9th June. I called Thomson yesterday and they said I cannot get an extension of any kind.

I would have thought it's unlike if they've said no already Lana. Did you try explaining when you'd be able to pay the balance and why?

No time to explain anything - I could tell it was a flat out 'No!' Anyway I will meet the deadline, it just means finances will be tight this month!

Good on you Lana - enjoy your holiday! Tight budget means no food treats this month so you will look sleek in your bikini!

Frustrating but at least you have your holiday to look forward to. Off anywhere nice?

I agree with LP, corporate policy tends to be rigid when it comes to cashflow and you can well understand why. You did book the holiday knowing there was a deadline involved. I can only suggest that you try and borrow the money or even credit card it if that is possible. Sad to say i know, but it can be better to lose a deposit rather than put yourself in hock to pay for something that can be stress on finances. Good luck anyway ...

Hello Lana,
My first question would be - Why do you need an extension?
If it is due to the fact that your money is tied somewhere else, maybe you can borrow it from somwehere to pay off.

If it is a case of cashflow though, then what can I say. You will also need money to spend when you are on holiday. Have you thought of where this money going to come from?

If you borrow to pay for the holiday, do you have an idea of how long its going to take you to pay off the holiday?

I know it is a bit harsh to say this but maybe you should take this as a lesson, albeit a very expensive one by foregoing your deposit.

Oh that's a shame Lana, I thought maybe a large company like that would have granted you a little leeway.

Still go ahead and enjoy yourself and try to leave your money worries behind you at least for a little while, have fun.
