Hi Jaz007 and welcome to Money.co.uk
There are always sources of free legal advice to be found but when it comes to putting pen to paper or further representation, that will usually cost you money.
A lot depends on what type of matter you wish to discuss but the Citizens Advice Bureau do have legal advice connections ( and will often be able to source advice from a sympathetic solicitor or even barrister I have heard ) and they may be a good place to start. If they cannot give you definitive advice, they will usually have a panel list of solicitors who may offer either a free initial assessment or a fixed fee interview.
I am also aware that the Co-operative Legal Services will give free legal advice over the phone so that may be worth the cost of a phone call ( link below ):

I recall that about ten years ago I sourced legal advice from a qualified 'family lawyer' at a local and established practice. He charged me £385 for three hours work and stated that unless I was prepared to refinance my mortgage to pay him, he would take the matter no further, not that he had any answers for me at the time. I took the same problem to a colleague who worked at the Citizens Advice Bureau and got a qualified opinion from their associated barrister totally free of charge.
As said, it depends on what you really want to discuss but if you Google 'Free Legal Advice' there is a wealth of information and useful forums to access as well.
Good luck!
Hi Jaz, and welcome.
Most solicitors offer a free consultation of up to half an hour, this can be done over the phone or in person.
If you need further help after the half hour, you are not obliged to continue with that solicitor and can elect to go elsewhere.
As Snoopy48 commented, all depends on the info that you need.I have had advice from my financial advisor, and havent been charged, but spent just under an hour with a solicitor for advice only, and had a bill for £180 pounds..Citizens advice are in most areas,so i would contact them first..Welcome to money.co.uk by the way.Good Luck.
