You don't specify clearly where the account will be or where you will withdraw, Lanzarote being one or the other or both.
Nowadays, using a UK account for withdrawals abroad, you will find there is a commission charge, a transaction charge and more than likely a charge from the ATM 'supplier'. So if you must use an ATM abroad then you should maximise the withdrawal amount instead of several smaller amounts. Remember to keep your cash hidden from view and safe.

You should also tell your bank that you are going abroad and when you return. They will then authorise your use of the card and stop foreign transactions after your return.
