Can anyone recommend a decent car warranty company?

They're certainly the big independent player I think, you might want to take a look at Warranty Wise as well. They're promoted by Top Gear's old guard presenter Quentin Wilson. Not sure if they're any better though! Best of luck.

I've got one independent garage cover with warranty direct. It seemed ok when we were looking around but I haven't had to claim on it yet (fingers crossed I don't have to).

I think the main things you need to look at are how much they'll cover you for labour and parts and whether they pay the garage directly.

Also it's probably worth googling for common issues with the make and model of car you have and make sure that those bits are covered.
