A FEW MORTGAGE PAYMENTS LAST YEAR BEFORE SORTING OUT MY IVA.
HE APPLIED FOR BIKE CREDIT EARLIER THIS YEAR AND WAS DECLINED AND HE NOW WISHES TO APPLY FOR A CREDIT CARD BUT WE ARE CONCERNED HELL BE DECLINED AGAIN AND LEAVE YET ANOTER FOOTPRINT. WHAT CAN HE DO OR WHERE CAN HE GO PLEASE?
Its a tricky one because he was obviously refused credit quite recently and the missed mortgage payments will still be on his credit profile. If this is the case, applying for another credit card will only add another footprint to his credit record.
You could try applying for a bad credit credit card which are designed for people with slightly worse credit scores, however the interest rates are often very high and the credit limits are often very restricted. Obviously it may be worth contacting the companies before applying to make sure he fits the criteria for the card to reduce the risk of being declined.
Hi Tory, and welcome to the forum.
TheBandit's spot on, as usual, but I would consider trying to do without a credit card at all, if you can, until you're in a better position. I know it seems unfair on your husband, but might be wiser until the missed mortgage payments have cleared from your credit record.
