Credit cards that double the warranty on purchases

Say you buy a plasma tv with a 3 year warranty some credit cards will give you an extended warranty for free - I know one is American Express which gives you a warranty for a purchase like this for 4 years but are there any that double the warranty as I have just read to say 6 years?

According to the article there are some but I cant find them?

"Also, check return policies, such as restocking fees. Don't fall for extended warranties (and note that some credit cards double already-generous warranty periods from the manufacturer)."

Hmm, interesting, only one I could find is the Ulster Bank Gold card which offers a year's extra free cover for up to six appliances (which you have to register)...

Can't say I am aware of this but it does seem a tad too good to be true ..... and who do you submit any claims through, I wonder?

How do you mean snoops - the manufacturer covers you for 3 years and Amex covers the extra 1 year!

So contact the credit card company for the last year!

Well that's accepted OD ... I just wonder how good the credit card customer service would be four years after the event and if they have the excellent appliance service network to support it?

I would assume that the original customer service from the appliance company is just extended and the credit card provider is paying for it? It seems very unlikely that the credit card provider would be responsible for it.

However, I am only guessing here, perhaps someone who knows can enlighten us...
