Ikea 75% off sale this weekend - Do you find this as annoying as I do.

by , 1 year agoOpen Question

I dont bother with these now!

The only honest one is Homebase 15% off everything this weekend.

What annoys me is lets say i went to Ikea this weekend there would probably be maybe 10 items in total - mostly stuff they cant shift advertised at 75% off and a wasted journey and petrol.

It seems to be mostly furniture companies - I mean some of them seem to have a permanent sale on - Time the regulator got tough on these dillwads and stop the madness.

Yep I would give that a miss. Also my biggest bugbear is the phrase 'Upto'. They all use it .... Broadband speed UPTO 8 meg..... UPTO 75% off ...... UPTO 5% interest ........ Basically it's bull**it. UPTO means you could get ZERO and likely that's nearer to what you will get.

Too right, Omen! I have never bothered with these cons, because that's what they are, cons, designed purely to lure you into their furniture store!

It pays to do a bit of searching.

Can you actually believe this is the sale in the Glasgow branch which is absolutely huge and this is the pitiful sale?

Ludicrous!

That's it...?! Fourteen items...?!

Ludicrous is indeed the word!

Just checked my local branch...it has 21 items!

Yes a total waste of time. I only tend to go to Ikea about once a yr if that. I go for specific items. It is a waste of time advertising 75% off to only give it off a few items which probably are end of line and they are trying to shift.

Yeah the only things I find of use and not bad price is the first section you go to with the plates, pans , utensils bit - I think they use it and the low prices there to lure you into a false sense of security then hit you with ludicrous prices for carpets and pillows etc in the next section then upstairs the awful tacky expensive furniture - I must admit I did buy a couple of wardrobes last year - one is ok the other one is falling apart already - Not good quality at all and most of it looks like what it is - cheap and nasty!

Bring back MFI all is forgiven - Well almost!
Those imitation wood TV stands and tables - nasty very nasty!
