More Europe migrants to gain access to full UK benefits.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-12633382
Then there is going to be ahuge influx of Arabs and as Gaddafi said if Libya falls all of Europe will be subject to an African invasion.
Scary thought!
Britain doesn't need to rely on Europe! We are more than capable of crippling ourselves through ill thought out legislation and cuts to budgets.
Add to this our open door policy to new European countries and our acceptance of their right to claim benefits in accordance with their human rights, at a time when tax revenues and local budgets are under enormous strain, are more than enough to bring this country to its knees.
It is great, however, to see Gaddafi playing the race card in order to instill fear and panic in the common man in order to mobilise resentment towards western governments threats of military intervention to facilitate his overthrow.
Does anywhere in Europe dole out benefits like us and if so where are they? I'm retired but 18 years early so could be "unemployed" on holiday somewhere warmer. I just see us all at Dover, Gatwick and Heathrow in a neat line waiting to greet our new immigrants, bent over with our trousers down. And despite beatings I didn't even do that for the Monks I was taught by!! I suppose I could let out 4 rooms to 8 families, keep one for an office and one for me and at least get something for my taxes. But some don't even think we are becoming a minority in our own country. Next year or 2014 we will be. Its now folks not "way off in the future". And with the chain of sanity we flush ourselves down the sanitary ware that was once Great Britain. WC to the end. Or is that PC to the end?
It's interesting to see someone revive a question that is a year old .... and it's even more pertinent today as the UK wades its way through an increasingly cosmopolitan and ethnically changing society.
From what I am seeing, a lot of migrants come here to cherry pick what is on offer and create a richer lifestyle that would not be available elsewhere. We may just have to accept that this is happening, irreversibly or otherwise as the intensity of it all just keeps steamrolling. The problem is that these people often do not wish to accept the British way of life, the language and sometimes everything that Britain stands for and is cherished by its indigenous population.
I have seen Turkish people who have 'settlement' here and have children born in this country, and who are therefore British citizens, but still teach Turkish as their first and sometimes only language. I have seen one such child, aged three, who will be going to nursery knowing only 'one. two. three' in English but already has fluency in Turkish for his age. Is that right? For me, that puts the whole idea of 'settlement' on their passport in denial.
And the Bangladeshi families where the wives have been here then to fifteen years but still cannot speak a word of English and insist on wearing traditional clothing and speaking only Bengali around the dinner table. Why come here if they insist on bringing their country with them?
Indeed we are being crippled, the state benefits are freely handed out while our old and infirm have theirs slashed, almost with avengeance. Those that support a 'multi cultural society' with its perceived 'richness' need to look again I suggest.

I agree with the first part the country is falling to its knees.
However after much cogitation on Saddam and Iraq We got rid of saddam and look what has happened to the country now. Its 100 times worse and more people are sying now than ever under the old dictator.
I think these middle east rulers actually know quite well how to deal with their own people - I for one would rather Gaddafi was in power after Saddam was toppled the situation is now worse than it ever was in Iraq - I saw a documentary on Afghanistan last night and the people were actually saying that law and order was better under the Taliban - probably too scared to blow things up. The middle east mentality is alien to Europeans and we should not try to understand , stop or change it - it just cant be done.
If Alexander the great tried and failed what makes Cameron the Conqueror think he can.
Libya is the only barrier to the African continent mass migration to Europe as he already stated - if he goes and his country goes we will be inundated - as he said in a speech do we really want a Black Europe and all it entails?
We just seem to have a knack of putting our oar in where it isnt wanted?
Korea , Vietnam , Iraq , Afghanistan - Is anyone seeing a pattern - not a single success!
Time to stop meddling and let other countries deal with things their own way - how would you feel if some country say India tried to bomb us and bring their idea of peace to us? Im sure we would all be irked by it too!
Cameron's statement about a no fly zone in Libya has been roundly condemmed by the American's. It appears that he is resorting to his PR approach and making diplomatic statements on the hoof that sound good but lack any substance!
Seems he asnt learnt anything at all from the disaster that was Blair and the Catastrophe that was Brown!
I do think you've got a point about the Middle Eastern mentality and Europeans, Omen. The only European who ever seemed to really understand it was Lawrence of Arabia, and look what happened to him! He's one of my greatest heroes incidentally!
Yes I saw a documentary apparently he was bumbanged in prison by the turks and tortured poor guy.
Arab mentality hasnt changed in 500 years - Kilroy was right!
Shame he lost his job - see what i mean about our society - anyone tells the truth and it seems even mildly antagonistic to someone elses culture or religion and they lose their job - we really have to get out of this culture - where is real free speech in Britain these days?
Sad loss and the last of the great adventurers - what an ignominious way to go out!
Midnight Express, anyone?
According to his book though, Feline, Billy Hayes was never raped in prison, and he objected to that part of the film. That was just Oliver Stone being his usual over-dramatic self!
This brings back a memory of watching 'Midnight Express' at a special gala performance at the Commonwealth Institute in London in 1978. We were all treated to a lovely dinner before hand and a few glasses of vino laid on by Warner Bros who were distributing the film in the UK. There is a moment in the film where in revenge the tounge of one of the fellow prisoners is bitten out and spat across the floor, at that very point there was a massive exodus from the screening towards the sign marked 'toilets' and this sadly broke all the dramatic tension of the film. Some returned others used it as their excuse to leave altogether! For it's time it was a great film and sadly Brad Davis who played Billy Hayes died all too young at 41 of an heroin AIDS related illness.
I dont remember the tongue incident - it mus have been taken out in the final cut?
When I saw it a few months ago on TV the tounge incident was still there! Perhaps now it isn't as shocking as it was then.
