After the judgement in Spain Ryanair are cogitating over introducing a ban for passengers arriving at the airport without a boarding pass.
Seems a big hoohaa for nothing - You could easily go to an internet cafe and print it out either in or outside the airport.
Ryanair get a lot of bad press but I must admit if I were to travel by BA or any other flyer; even Easyjet over the last few years I would have been vastly out of pocket.
Yes Ryanair are trying to save money in all ways possible but thats just good business sense. As the saying goes you pay for what you get!
If you dont want to pay for using the toilet then use the airport toilet before you board the plane. Yes overweight people should pay more especially if they take an extra seat or even arm room - I have been on a plane and forced to be squeezed between the window and a rather obese person. Its time people paid for their laziness and bad lifestyle choices , we have had it to easy in this country for too long.
In reality if you forget your boarding pass its your fault not Ryanairs - any organised person would sort out the most important documents - ie passport, boarding pass , travel money before going to the airport.
To be honest, OD, although I see what you're saying here, I tend to disagree. By the time you add up all the so-called extra costs of a flight with Ryanair, you could have bought a ticket with a more expensive airline for the same or less.
Frankly, I would only fly with Ryanair if I had absolutely no choice. Michael O'Leary is a throughly unpleasant man who has no respect whatsoever for his customers.
I have flown with easyJet more than a few times, but only ever for short internal flights, and they are as 'basic' as I would go!
Yes he is quite unpleasant seemingly but we dont know him so I reserve judgement i dont like to judge an individual till ive met them!
Certainly is in the greedy rich person category but so are all people who run a business successfully it seems!
I have to disagree all of the locations i have flown to in the last few years for example Poprad in Slovakia with Danube wings is £534 and with ryanair £43 per person.
Ryanair do seem to cover more locations than others.
This includes my holiday to Croatia last year and Poland , Hungary and Paris!
Maybe not for long haul to Thailand etc.
I agree about all the additions but it doesnt add up to the prices BA and its ilk charge!
We will just have to agree to disagree, I think, my dear OD!;-)
I can only judge Mr O'Leary on his public comments and I find his disrespect of his passengers really horrible! I can't even get through a flight to Scotland without needing to use the loo, and I don't consider that it's right to make that an extra, it's a necessity!
The only thing I WILL say in favour of the cut-price airlines like Ryanair and easyJet, is that there is no doubt in my mind that they forced the prices of the other airlines down, and that's a good thing.

I love the bit about charging to look out the window!
Love it! Guess you could ask for a refund if it's cloudy! Or dark! And then there was that thing not long ago when he said he was going to make people stand during the flights...
Yes that was taking things too far a bit like the normal situation we have on The Bus, The Train , The Tube So I guess having it on an aeroplane really wouldnt be much of a departure from every day life really!
