boiler? I know there are lts to choose from but with the cost involved wondered if some brands were more cheaper to run, heat water etc. Any help anyone?
The best boilers you can buy are by a company called Vaillant!
Guaranteed to last a lifetime they have the best engineers.
Not often I am impressed by British workmen but they are spot on really know their stuff.
It is a bit expensive but you pay cheap in this area belive me you will pay twice.
Pay for quality in this case!
Hi Lakes
Mine is a Baxi Duo-Tec - Rated A efficiency. Had it for approx 2 years and only had one issue with it - the boiler gave a code which we passed on to the engineer and he came with the correct part to fix it. It heats a 2 bedroomed house with 4 people in it.
Not saying it's the best, but I get on with it.
I think the boilers that Omendata has suggested are a good make, and so are the baxi, we have a worcestershire bosch which is really good. There are many good makes but it comes down to what you can afford.
Omendata is right that it's an investment to keep you warm and heat your water so worth paying a little more. Do not go through British Gas for installation that are too expensive.
Get a few quotes too to ensure that you are not paying over the odds for installation.
Have you checked with your energy supplier if they offer any grants towards the cost of a new condenser boiler. The grants of about £350 are available.
