Well 25 UK Millionaires will have been made in this Friday's Euromillions draw .....

But I do wonder how we can define 'being lucky' and whether anything controls of affects our ability to 'be lucky'. You hear of talk about people who 'were born lucky' or people who have regular luck. Not to mention the 'luck of the Irish'.
So I would love to hear people's views on how they define 'luck' and whether an optimistic view is all we need in life or is there something deeper about the topic and 'much less earthly' to recognise here? A can of worms eh?

I'm a pessimist in the view that i will never be disappointed and if i do win i will be overjoyed.

Bein an optimist you will either be disappointed or satisfied.

As a computer analyst like G-Man will probably accept the logic in that.

Ie

Pessimist - No win = Satisfied
win = Overjoyed

Optimist - No Win = Disappointed
Win = Satisfied

As you can see being a pessimist means you will never be unhappy!

I take it you werent one of them.

Personally i cant see why you would want to pay more than a quid for the lottery.

I believe the euromillions is £2.

So okay you could iwn a million but for a quid you could also do the same in the ordinary lottery.

I think camelot are evil cynical and downright bad in this current climate they are trying to make even more money by introducing a new 5 number thing on the lottery - what next?

So in essence why pay more than a quid - do you really or are you really that greedy you would want more than a million?

Wheyhey OD, my man, an answer after two months of barreness!

From what you say, I guess that being optimistic makes you believe in luck, being a pessimist probably means you don't.
It's like during the average lifetime, millions of things will happen to you, and some will have a distictly 'lucky' flavour. And that's just the law of averages and nothing else.

But you are right about keeping your lottery bet to a quid. If your name is on the bullet, you will win! And paying £20 to buy 20 tickets just means ( in the case of Lotto ) that there are some 13 million bullets still without your name on it! So it's not the chances of winning that shoudl discourage you to spend more than a £1, it's the chances of NOT winning!

As you say, Quite Easily Done!
