I have recently booked myself in for a spray tan and wax for a bargain £15 (thanks to an amazing deals website I have found). I am a bit apprehensive about the spray tan as am having it done just before New Years Eve and am worried about ending up bright orange!
Just wondering if anyone else has had one/knows anyone who has had one and what they thought of it?
£15 what a bargain!! I've had spray tans before and they're amazing. If they weren't so expensive I'd have them done every week. The ones I've tried were Fake Bake and St Tropez so I guess it does depend on what brand they'll use but I'm sure you'll be fine. Ask them to give you a light colour if you're a bit nervous . Make sure you exfoliate and moisturise before you go and wear old loose clothes.
No, the orange look would clash with my hair colour! :-)
I have spray tans all the time (can't you tell by my avatar?!!) only joking but having discussed this with a colleague it sounds like a bargain! Just make sure you don't ask for the bright orange look if you are worried about it!
Do you think anyone actually asks for the tango'd look?
Yes! I think some people actually like to be as orange as possible!
I can't believe I am having two treatments for only £15. Where I live the cheapest wax is £20 alone!
That's cheap, what was the website? I think you can get fake tan remover if it goes horribly wrong so don't worry about it too much.
I am signed up to Wahanda.com they send you daily deals ranging from spa days to hair cuts and beauty treatments. I have also bought a £20 spa day in Knightsbridge that includes a one hour full body massage... pretty good going if you ask me!
Nice one, I'll have to take a look.
Ah, the future's bright, the future's Orange.
Orange - the new tan from Katie Price.
Erm, never had a spray tan. Think it's because I saw that episode of Friends where Ross gets one done, during my formative years...
If you are getting it done for an occasion i would reccommend getting it done a few days beforehand, this will let it fade a little and look more natural before the day. Some places do turn you orange. Try and find one that a friend or family member has been to before so that you know its a good one. Also remove all make up befor and dont use deoderant as this will make it go funny. put a ressing gown on afterwards (loosely) so that you can let it dry and when you shower (the next day so it drys properly do not scrub the skin are this will make it streak!
Oh i have also had a few done myself for weddings, prom and my birthday, i recommend this as sun beds are bad, and you have to use them loads of times to get a tan hence the badness...
Apparently, yes. they are easy to spot, they look a funny colour.
There are some great ones out there, I was a massive fan of sunbeds and sitting in the sun covered until I resembled a beetroot until the old wrinkles started appearing (before my 25th birthday)! I would stick to the better known brands (urban tan and fantasy tan were recommended by my housemate who makes a fair amount after buying one of these thingys http://www.readymadebusiness4u.com/tanning-business-opportunity.html -and no-one has left ours looking like they have been Tangoed! Great advice from Emma-Marie about preparing for the tan, I have also been informed by my housemate that for best results and a longer lasting tan to exfoliate with PORRIDGE two days before having it done. Not sure if this is actually true or if she is trying to make me sound like an idiot; ha ha! :)
Lol, vicky! It's an old trick, the porridge, but you just use the oats, you don't actually make up the porridge and use that...or you would LOOK like an idiot! ;-)
I'm not a fan of tanning at all, by the way, not by sun or by self tan, I just happen to know the porridge trick. I'm a mine of useless info!
