What happens if we are unable to get to our UK holiday destination over Christmas due to snow/bad weather?

by , 1 year agoOpen Question

We paid through a UK travel company by credit card. I have since tried taking out cancellation insurance but was told that as there was snow on the ground in places already I would have to prove it was different snow! There is currently no snow where I live (Gloucestershire) and no snow in South Devon either!

I presume you don't have any travel insurance at all? If not then unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it. If you can't get there then you will not be able to get a refund. The weather is supposed to be slightly warmer next week (above freezing) so hopefully you will be okay...
