I need to add some insulation to my loft & while insulation board seems a little more expensive to buy, it looks like it's a whole lot easier to fit. Just wondering whether anyone knew whether there's a difference in terms of energy efficiency etc and which I should go for.
I believe insulation board is better for lofts that are going to be floored and used for extra living space, you can use them to insulate walls and roofs too, but other than that, I thinks it's down to personal preference.
Rolls of insulation have a larger surface area and will kepp your home warmer than insulation boards but if you want to use the loft as storage then they are clearly the more suitable option and they will help to keep the warmth in more then no insulation boards. It will all depend on what you are after. In my loft I have left the outside parts of the loft as rolls as it to diffult to move in that area and placed boards down where I can get to and store items.
Rolls of insulation and put the floorboards on top best way!
My husband does that sort of thing for a living and our loft is amazing at keeping the heat in - its also pretty hot up there too - perfect for our little hemp plants!
I knew as soon as someone saw Lotus they would think rich lady i would like to say yes but im afraid its 20 years old and only worth £3500 we are totally pot-less!!!!
If you're growing hemp in the attic, I don't think you're exactly 'pot'less (ahem) :)
