High payments, regular income. some sites not proper income to live on though
I think only a handful of people would be able to make a living from using survey sites, because as you say, the surveys are not frequent enough. No matter how many survey sites you sign up to, you will not get enough to make a regular income. After a while they may add up to a nice payment but this can take a long time. Others may have better experiences but personally it was a waste of time trying to make money through these sites as there are so many others trying to do the same thing. Remember that the advertising that includes 'high payments and regular income' is there to make you sign up so that they can have your details on their database!
I tend to agree with TheBandit, sunflower, surveys are fine for a bit of extra cash, but not really suitable for a regular income. I do Ipsos Mori, and have had 2 to 3 surveys a week for the last few weeks, but it's just for fun and a bit extra, as not possible to make any real money. I would be wary of the ones that promise you more!
The point of the survey sites is to offer a minimal amount of financial gain for your time and thoughts on various products/services which is then fed back to the different companies to hopefully see how they can improve their products or services. It would not be financially viable for them to offer more than they do but some are better than others. You can not rely on them to earn enough money to 'live on'. Use them as an opportunity to provide honest feedback on the subjects that you are interested in or have personal experience of and earn yourself a small reward for taking part.
