Not legally if the car was regsistered in your name and not legally bought by ex-partner.
If it's registered in your name, then you're the legal owner. I'm guessing from the question categorisation that you're going through a sepration or divource - this is something that your solicitor can confirm.
The registered keeper and legal owner of the car are not necessarily the same person. If your ex can prove that he is the legal owner by producing documants relating to the sale then he would be within his rights to take the car.
Thank you, the car was purchased with the family money and was paid in cash to a private seller. He took the motorbike when he left. He's just being unreasonable
