Absolutely! And I'd expect all kinds of favouritism and nepotism too.
Then again, for all I know I might already be working for my illegitimate younger brother as to the best of my knowledge I'm an only child...
Are you realy named Miliband seeking advice from a wider audience? A job is a job and if a younger brother is your boss it shouldn't make any difference to you.
i guess it depends on the circumstances, but as noddy says a job is a job - especially with them being harder to come by at the moment.
cheers
Your welcome, it is true though - a job is a job.
Human nature being what it is I think that no one would enjoy their younger siblings in a position of power over them, especially when they have always been led to believe that this would never be the case.
Most definitely!! I certainly wouldn't have any issues with it but maybe in the political arena things tend to take on a different twist and after all it's not like Milliband Snr is going to struggle getting a position!!
I wouldn't mind to be honest. I would try my best to remain as professional as possible and would treat them still as my boss, and not as my relative. That said, when away from the working environment it would be crucial for me to meet up with them outside of work so that we could still see each other as family members too.
Never a dull day in politics eh! I think it is a shame to lose DM. Let's hope he is an active backbencher. Interesting line DM has taken - doesn't want to cause distraction for his bro. Would love to be invited to Sunday lunch!!!!!
I think it's a shame to lose David Miliband too...he's so much prettier to look at than his brother!
Hi Fruitcake -Your not wrong!
I would - but it would be tough to work for a younger sibling. I am the oldest in our family and therefore know best in everything as my brothers and sisters will doubtless confirm! (Ha ha - not!)
Yes, I would. I have a younger brother and love him dearly but he has different skills from me. So as long as he got the job honourably and as long as I had the skills he neded and wanted I would have no problem.
I would, as presumably it would be because he was the right person for the job. However, we work in entirely different fields, so I doubt it would be an issue. There are areas where I definitely respect his knowledge and opinions way more than my own already, and I'm happy to follow his lead on those, just as he follows my lead where I am the expert.
With DM, presumably he didn't see the potential for his own political career. To me, it says he was more interested in power than in serving the country - will be interesting to see what he does next, and whether he benefits the country he wanted to lead.
i think in this climate pride is not something to get much notice. i would feel annoyed and a bit hurt however i would convince myself that he was the better person for the job and he would be a great boss and hopefully new opportunities would come along :)
yes i would have no problem with this and would help him as much as i can along the way
