Make sure that if you are having driving lessons and need to book your test avoid using third party commercial websites who are charging administration fees on top of the standard charges. A theory test, which costs £31 is being charged at £50 and practical driving tests, which cost £62 are having on average £30 added to this cost to administer the transaction.
To save money book directly with www.dsa.gov.uk where you will be charged the actual cost and no extras.
What a rip off! Theory tests and practical driving tests already have expensive charges to pay when booking direct. How ridiculous that these third party companies hike up the price through admin charges.
They're making it more and more difficult for people to learn!
i know! people are always getting caught with this! its expensive enough without throwing away more!
It's important that driving instructors tell people to book direct then. I didn't know you could use anyone else.
Nor did i, roseangel, my BSM instructor booked my test for me, directly with the DSA. I just assumed all driving instructors did that.
Don't get caught with this you can book direct at www.dsa.gov.uk or an application form is available at the post office or from your driving instructor.
it costs so much these days so i would never use a third party they have a dam cheek just use a proper driving school for everything
I'm glad I passed my test in the 'olden days' before the theory test. It was expensive to learn to drive then, it's ridiculous now. Mind you if it reduces the bad drivers on the roads then it can't be a bad thing I suppose.
