I have been a member for a number of years and originally they offered tickets to first screenings of films. In recent months they have also started to offer theatre/performance tickets for London based productions. In recent weeks I have been offered tickets for Enron; As You Like It; The Tempest both at The Old Vic; Bon Jovi and Rod Stewart at the O2 Arena - all free. As well as fringe theatre and classical based performances. The most important thing is that if you agree to take the tickets you MUST turn up and after the performance you will be asked to fill in a quick review questionnaire, which is emailed to you the next day. This is a brilliant service and is totally free. However, the deals can come through quite late in the day and so it helps to be London based.
I registered ages ago, and I mean ages ago, about 4 years ago, and I've heard nothing form them so far! I'm going to follow it up, see if I can find out what's going on with it. That's really impressive though, I'll have to sign up again or something.
i havent i live in the back of beyond so most of these services will never contact me sadly :(
me too, to far to use these services
its such a shame that everything revolves around london though
Yes - I got a ticket last Friday to see a film at Leicester square in London, but so far I haven't been asked to complete a review. Not sure why?
However, a few weeks ago I went to see a film in Richmond and while I was in the queue outside, the cinema cancelled the showing. Unfortunately some people had made quite a long journey to get there and although they asked for some compensation such as payment for there parking nothing was given.
The invitations are sent by email sometimes on the day of the showing and you need to be quick accepting the ticket otherwise you will see a noticed saying there are no tickets left.
Perhaps they only send out the after perfromance reviews for theatre performances.
I have been asked to review films before. Its only for this recent one I haven't been sent a review request
I have seen a few films recently via showfilmfirst. Has this taken over from seefilmfirst though?
They have added theatre/perfromance tickets to their offers. The info I receive is from ShowFilmFirst.
I would sign up if I lived within spitting distance of London but unfortunately don't. There isn't anything like this even in Manchester that I am aware of as that would be ideal for me living only 45 minutes away. Would like to hear from anyone that knows differently.
I used to get e-mail notifications from this organisation quite regular but then they started trying to encourage you to sign up to receive notification by text (£1.50 a time). I didn'tsign up for this because with the amount of e-mails I used to get, it would've cost a fortune. I know they've re-launched recently as ShowFilmFirst and I signed up again but haven't heard anything since. Do you receive notification by text or e-mail?
I get my notifications by email. They do have a 'VIP Service' which is a text based advanced notice and this costs £1.50. I have been offered this but have not signed up and still get the email notices.
Maybe they just don't like me any more then! I might try and sign up again. Thanks for letting me know.
i will be looking into this this afternoon, cheers for the tip.
this looks great.., and the text is only 1.50..
thanks for this greatly :)
yes, haven't actually been to one of the films yet (never quite worked out) but I keep an eye on the emails, it is a great service.
