by abigail69, 1 year ago

i was actually on that about 8 months ago but changed to my current one around xmas coz i just went through the £10 way to quick as my friends aren't on O2

I think thats quite good compared to mine.Im with orange and i thought mt tarrif was ok, but not anymore.I have200mins any network, unlimited landline calls, and unlimited texts, for £10 a month.Ishall be looking for a better tariff myself.thanks.

by blondie, 1 year ago

Blondie, what tariff are you on with Orange? That sounds better than my Orange tariff and i pay £15 a month.

by fruitcake, 1 year ago

That is a very very good tariff! that is the kind of tariff I will be looking for when mine runs out.

by ryancarte, 1 year ago

Hi Blondie,im not realy sure i,l have to check, and find my details,iv,e alwaays been pay as you go,and only changed 7months ago to contract.

by blondie, 1 year ago

Sorry Fruitcake,im calling you by my own name now, been work all day,and i look after my mam who,s got alzheimers, getting worried now.

by blondie, 1 year ago

Know the feeling! :) If you have an Orange bill handy, it tells you your tariff on it. No rush tho, just let me know sometime when you've got a mo.

by fruitcake, 1 year ago

nope, i really doubt it to be honest, however i like orange because they give me orange weds, so i stick with them.

by katkity, 1 year ago

See now my girlfriend is on Orange so that means I can make the most of the orange benefits too cos we go for ornage wednesdays quite a few times! Did you know of the pizza express deal with them too?

by ryancarte, 1 year ago

No Ryancarte i didn,t but thanks for telling me.

by blondie, 1 year ago

sounds good to me but try shoping around, if you want to stick to sim only deals it wont take long to sum up the other options

by cffalco, 1 year ago

It is a very good deal. I wish I had a deal as good as that!

by ryancarte, 1 year ago

That doesn't sound a bad deal Darwin. I am with 3 and pay £10 per month on contract and only get 300 minutes all in including calls/texts. Free calls to other 3 mobile users but unfortunately no one I really know is with them!! My daughter has a contract with Vodafone and pays (or rather I pay) £15 per month for 300 minutes and unlimited texts. My brother is with O2 and he has had some real problems with network coverage and can't get a signal in his own house. He has to go and stand outside. I have never had any problems with 3 or Vodafone.

by frenchwoodgirl, 1 year ago

i have terrible connection with all of them due to the railway lines running down the end of my back garden i think

by abigail69, 1 year ago

If you have problems with connections then you can generally get a refund if your on a contract otherwise you would be stuck in a contract with no signal!!!

by Darwin, 1 year ago

Even that £10 a month deal thoug frenchwoodgirl is still a very good deal. What's the signal like with 3? Because ages ago it used to be appauling, but I have heard that they are getting better?

by ryancarte, 1 year ago

My sister was with them years ago and had real problems but I have been with them for 18 months now and have had no problems at all with the signal (except when I am at my brother's house!!)Not sure what sort of deals they are offering currently.

by frenchwoodgirl, 1 year ago

Ive been on Orange everyday 50 its 50mins every day after 7pm but anytime on weekends and holiday periods its £15.50p monthly I started this contract in 1986 and just got a free upgrade to a Nokia N97 Mini. The network coverage is excellent.

by Noddy1, 1 year ago

1986?! Is that the right year? Wow, you are a very valued customer if they've had your custom for the last 24years!! If I'd been there that long I'd be wanting them to pay me for staying with them!!

by ryancarte, 1 year ago

Not that I can see at the moment, unfortunately! It is a very very good deal though so I wouldn't be wishing it away if I were you. I heard T-mobile are soon to be going bankrupt, or certainly on their way, so I would avoid those at the moment.

by ryancarte, 1 year ago

i'll bear that in mind thanks :-)

by Darwin, 1 year ago

I'm with O2 on standard PAYG. I usually top up when I get to £2 worth of credit, about every 10 weeks or so, and top up the maximum I can in one transaction, £30. For this I get a surprise (free calls after 6pm for a week as an example) and 10% of my top up back every 3 months. I don't use the phone that much so it's great for me.

by MarkX, 1 year ago

well its still more than i pay coz its £30 for 2 and a half months where as mine would be £25 for that time :-)

by Darwin, 1 year ago

Fair point but I get £3 back and the actual frequency I top up varies depending on how many calls I make or texts I send. I generally don't use my phone that much so this works really well for me.

by MarkX, 1 year ago

Yeah, suppose i use about 800-900 texts a month so need to be on unlimited really and use about 250 of my mins so each to their own :-)

by Darwin, 1 year ago

Sounds like you've got a really good deal if you use your phone that much, I'd probably stick with it if I were you.

by MarkX, 1 year ago

Sounds pretty good to me. Time to change my SIM only account!

Think that if family and very close friends are all on the same network that can be a bonus.

by pmscot93, 1 year ago

yeah O2 do a good deal where one person pays and you get 5 sim cards or something like that good value though if all your family can be on the same network :-)

by Darwin, 1 year ago

I'd stick where you are. O2 has some of the best rates going at the moment.

by laura, 1 year ago

yeah i'd agree there definitely going to renew the contract when it finishes :-)

by Darwin, 1 year ago

Seems to me, you've a good deal, I like O2 as get good coverage, in my area. Never won anything on surprises though!

by lakes, 1 year ago

Sounds fab! I was going to recommend Tesco which also runs on the O2 network, so great coverage. But it sounds like a good deal you have. I have Tesco for my daughter as I top her up £10 a month and it gets tripled to £30 of credit plus points and 10% discount for setting up a DD for the top up. But your deal sounds brill.

by Sulouli, 1 year ago

yeah that isn't too bad my sister is actually on that deal not bad but if you want to text a lot then your credit can run out very quickly hence why i need the unlimited texts really :-)

by Darwin, 1 year ago

Well, your deal is better than mine so I don't think I can recommend anything to you, you just made the recommendation to me! :)

by palandraca, 1 year ago

Which network are you with?

by ryancarte, 1 year ago

One of the problems you have is the price versus coverage/customer service etc. I recently upgraded my phone but T-Mobile could have gieven me it cheaper... However I know that T-Mobile has hardly any coverage in the village I live and I decided that I'd rather spend a few £ more to get coverage all the time... Which is why I stuck with O2

by SpammyG, 1 year ago

I am personally a fan of Virgin who set me up with a new phone and sufficient minutes for my need and I only pay £8.50 per month.

by piper, 1 year ago

I can only get signal from vodaphone at my house so guess will stick to them!so check signal strength before you switch!

by jajajanie, 1 year ago

Agreed. That can be checked here (links are in top left, and if your network isn't listed check the bottom of the page to see which network they might use instead):

About switching networks, one should never switch if under contract especially if you area long way (more than 6 months from end of contract)or you may have to pay some hefty fees.Come to think of it, your sim contract seems to be of good value.

by creativesaver, 1 year ago

Sounds like you already have a good deal! The o2 network does seem to be one of the best for what you get I think

by alpha, 1 year ago

I would say 3 is the best.
They are also very good at matching deals over the phone with you.
They current offer 100 minutes free, unlimited text and free skype calls.

by Member-4345, 1 year ago

I am on a contract but when it runs out next year i will go back to pay as you go. I feel i am paying far more than i need to each month, but nothing i can do for another 12 months!

by NTB, 9 months ago

As far as getting a signal is concerned I believe O2 are the best, but if you really want to change I would steer clear of T mobile and Orange. I have been with O2 for many years and would never change - I think they provide some of the best deals.

by Lana, 9 months ago

Ironically enough they are actually owned by O2, so you use he O2 network.

by seaspray1998, 5 months ago

Yes - switch to www.giffgaff.com

Its pay as you go but can beat most of the contract deals out there.

Min spend is £5 up to £25 goodybags - where you get 1,500 cross-network mins to any mobile, any landline any time. All 0800 and 0500 numbers are free, for every minute that somebody calls you get paid and can then either use it towards credit for your phone, donate it to charity or exchange it for cold hard cash.

If you get involved in the community by getting other people to come on board then you earn extra money.

The internet is unlimited - no capping no throtting.

Text mssgs are also totally unlimited

You can also get a sim card with a free £5 on it if you click on a link under an agent as they are known on there.

Works absolutely brillient - no probs and if any you do get any, then you are answered fairly quickly by others on the boards.

Hope that helps

I'm been with Vodafone and Orange and found both of them very good - coverage, customer service and the deals that I have been on. I'm not sure how deals compare, as I only tend to compare once I am ready to take out a new contract with a new phone.

by yummymummy08, 5 months ago

NTB are you aware you can get out of your contract by transferring it onto somebody else - if you go to gumtree.com there are people advertising to pass on their contract to somebody else.
