My luxury is my dog. Even if she cost twice as much as she does I would always want a dog in my life.
Trips to the pub and the odd fry up.
The occasional gig as well.
Oh and I am on a diet and I do miss the odd fry up.
a good gig is always fun
I think everyone said their luxuries in the previously asked similar question.. most people said the internet and spouse as I recall!
Sorry, I did not realise that this had been asked before, perhaps that is what made the thought come into my mind. Come to think of it I think I answered dog then. Oh dear this site must be mind blowing.
However from the variety in the answers here a lot of people must have missed it first time round.
You're right, this site is making me go a bit potty. You have got lots of different answers though, so you could be right that it got missed before.
Vain I know, but make-up. I like to look my best and have a couple of expensive items in my make-up bag. Will be interesting to see if my views change when my first baby arrives any day now! ;o)
Maybe you won't even have time for make up for a few days. Some very organised women have told me that all they did for the first few weeks was look after the baby, they couldn't even find time to get dressed at first.
I'm preparing myself for that. I've topped up my tan and tinted my eyelashes just incase tho - don't want to completely let myself go - ha :o)
I think that's wonderful!! Baby due any moment and you've got your tan and eyelashes sorted. You're going to be SuperMum of the century!
our holidays we could not do without they help to keep us sane
Depending on what budget we would be talking about, sometimes luxuries are not an option. But if I could choose, occassional trips abroad and the odd facial or massage too.
I'd rather have my dog than go on 10 holidays a year. I love her to bits and don't care how much she costs. I agree with you Susan, dogs are in my blood, I want one throughout my life.
for me it is getting my hair done every three weeks or so it isn't much but for an hour i can really relax and chill out, whilst having a chat with my stylist and the other people there and of course you always leave feeling a million dollars
Really! I hate going to the hairdressers. Can't stand the 'Are you going away this year' and never seem to like my hair once it's done. Must have been to a hundred different stylists and never gone back to any.
I completely agree with you, seem to spend a small fortune at the hairdressers, but I trust her, she does a good job and I know that for 3 hours I get to sit and relax generally with a nice cappuccino and a magazine.
I used to hate going to the hairdressers. Then I went to one where there was a real circus going on, it was extremely small, very very busy and there was always lots of chat across the room. I used to get so involved I forgot to dislike it. Now I go somewhere where I really like the lady who does my hair, I trust her, like the way she cuts it and actually care whether she is going on holiday or how her family are.
My car is the luxury I most value, bearing in mind the cost. However, it's also the one I'd have to get rid of if it were any more expensive.
I've taken out a new phone contract today. £12 per month as opposed to the £40-50 I've been paying for the last two years. I think a phone is my vital luxury, because I need to know that I'm contactable if anyone needs me, but I can be cheaper about that than I have been before, now. That said, does my need for a phone make it a necessity rather than a luxury?
My absolute luxury, looking at my budget, would be my charity fund. It's very important to me, but something that, if I was truly desperate for money, I would be able to get rid of.
Well done on getting your phone bill down, thats great!
Thanks! I'm so pleased the time has come. It was the most useless drain on my finances imaginable!
I got my Blackberry contract two years ago. It was £40 per month, and it was exactly what I needed. I was a busy, full-time media student working a full-time (self-employed) job at the same time, balancing both things and using my phone for both my job and my university course. The £40 was well-spent.
Last April, I finished university and started a career, leaving behind self-employment. Now, I use my phone for no more than ten text messages a day, and I make minimal calls. Since last April, I've barely used my phone yet had to watch £40 or more drain from my account each month until my contract ran out. Very pleased to finally be getting rid!
Our holidays... we all work so hard that a holiday is well worth saving for so you have the opportunity to totally switch off from work
nice face cream. a little bit of luxury once sometimes twice a day. plus i can often get it cheap on my favourite shopping channel
Domino's pizza two for Tuesday!
Is that a luxury or a necessity :-)
Let's call it a luxury... ;)
Holidays are my luxuries...the thought of never being able to travel again would drive me stir crazy. Whenever I feel down I always try to look ahead and the thought of going somewhere new and different always manages to lift me out of the doldrums!!
Isn't it odd, I always appreciated not being at work and used to really enjoy my holidays but now I am retired I do enjoy them but am not desperate for them.
A private jet with unlimited energy efficient fuel...
My horses are my luxury, and a very expensive luxury they are!! but second to that, would have to be a holiday every year, even if its a long weekend, i like to get on a plane and go somewhere different!
Hayley, yes they are a real commitment both in terms of money and time and effort. Must be hard to budget for them
Yes t really is, but luckily i have some one who wants to ride and in turn they contribute to there costs, i am also lucky enough to have a sponsor for one of my horses, so this also helps!
My car would be very high on my list. Even when I wasn't working after I'd had my son and my husband was made redundant I said then I'd only give up my car as a last resort. Luckily I got a job fairly quickly so we never had to face the prospect. I don't need a new car or a luxury car, just my own car so I can go where I want when I want and not have to rely on anyone else.
A smaller, but important, luxury would be my daily newspaper. I love sitting down to read it.
I agree about the car although it would still come second to the dog. However I took a newspaper for a while and had to give it up because it took so much reading.
My broadband connection to the internet. It's where I find all the bargains and money off vouchers!
My luxury is my mobile phone. I can take it anywhere and I can always phone if i need anything. It has alot of precious photos on it especially of my new grandson. Where else could I listen to music I liked with no interuptions? Also because of my illness it's to contact some one
It has to be holidays in a nice sunny location, it always makes the world seem a nicer place with a holiday to look forward to.
peach water/my dog but my dad would carry the costs
Our boat, people think owning a boat is a great expense but its not, and its somewhere my family can go every weekend to relax. The kids can fish and mess about with other vfamilies who also have a boat whilst we get to socialise.
Yes, I used to sail a dinghy and I always admired those with families who got the children involved. They got a degree of independence in a supportive environment. I think it can be the same thing with caravaning and other things that can involve the whole family.
