Make your own entertainment with family and friends such as visiting parks going for picnicks and group games such as chase and cricket.

On a nice day definitely a local walk and a picnic. I am just waiting for the weather to improve to do this with my daughter over the holidays....very bad in the NW at the moment. At the moment we are doing a lot of baking as the weather is so bad and whilst it is not totally 'free' we are experimenting as much as we can by using up ingredients that are hiding at the back of the cupboards!!

Baking or any cooking is one of my favourite things to do although I tend to get carried away so it's not always cheap!

I have been doing a lot of cooking and baking lately - saving lots of money and it's also fun that doesn't cost too much. I tend to cook/bake with ingredients I already have in the house, or where I can buy a couple of ingredients to add to those I already have. My niece and I made a chocolate cake a couple of days ago when she came round to visit.

There are very interesting museums to check for free in London (not sure where you are based?) I know this is not everyone's cup of tea, but I do find them very interesting.

Depending on where you live you will have more or less options available, luckily in London there are always interesting and free things to see and do.

Also, If you are a qype member you get the chance to get invited to the free events that you register your interest to. They are very good!

And I am not sure if you would consider exercising as a form of entertainment (I do!), but if you do not only there are always free days to take in different gyms, but also free classes online through services like www.fitness.tv - you can either follow them through the Internet or through the Sky channel 282. This one I would recommend, it has good classes and they run all day long.

I am sure I have more, but can't think of them now. I will update this when I do.

Some cinemas do £1 viewings early on a Saturday morning (9am ish) - Cine World I think.
