I sent the items back 3 months ago they keep saying the have refunded me the money but wont confrim the account details they sent it to they are now ignoring my emails and you cant contact them by phone
Is it a well known shop? If so then they are usually quite good about these kinds of things.
Online traders still have to abide by consumer regulations so you should write to them warning that you will contact trading standards if they do not refund your money and give them a timescale in which to respond. If they don't respond then the only option is to contact trading standards.
The Consumer Direct website can tell you how to deal with online companies and is a great resource. www.consumerdirect.gov.uk. But go on, name and shame!

If you paid by credit card (rather than debit card) and the amount paid was over £100 (I think) you can ask your credit card to refund the money as your purchase would have been protected under S75 (of a credit act I guess)
Is the company in question still in business? It sounds like they may not be if you cannot contact them by phone or get any response to your emails. If the amount was considerable then it is probably worth taking steps to try and get it back, but it isn't sounding very good.
Im sure there still in business as i have seen there adverts in magazines and you can still order things from them
If there is a contact address on the website I would try the old fashioned method of putting pen to paper. Lodge your complaint with them formally and state that you expect to receive the refund within the next 7 days etc otherwise you will take matters further by going through the civil courts. Make sure you send it recorded delivery though.
I agree with the comment about the credit card, although if you did use one presumably they would have refunded to your card which would be easy to check. Otherwise, find the name of their chairman/CEO and write directly to him at the head office. You can find this information at your local library I think. Sometimes this is enough to prompt a positive response. Failing that then go to trading standards for help and advice.
another trick is to open a site slating them for example if it was petes cars ltd open a site called why petes cars sucks you might find he will give you your refund to stop the bad press lol be careful to stick to facts and put a disclaimer on stating you are not responsable for any commens left by other people who visit the site
Setting up a website can be a lot of hassle especially getting it high up search rankings, would it be worth it?
have you got it in for me or something? lol it was an optin for if all fails and it is easy enough to get someone to knock up a website for youfor a small business that is likely to have few links it is more likely to turn up, Bigger businesses are less likely to try to refuse as they have thier customer base to think of

Believe me, online companies fear the internet for complaints and love it for new business..
I'd contact trading standards who should take the complaint to them or at least tell you who to contact
If you haven't already you need something in writing. Rather than e-mailing them, which can be missed in an inbox full of them. Write a letter of complaint stating everything that has happened and see what reply you get.
Unfortunately, if they don't reply and you can't get hold of them you might be fighting a loosing battle. So at this point it depends on how much you are trying to reclaim. If its only a small amount, then the advice would be to write it off and learn from your mistake and not shop there again. To get a solicitor involved would probably cost too much and not worth the hassle
