is it just general jobs or a specific sector?
i thnk the best job hunting sites are specific to certain industries. You'd need to be more specific about what sort of job you are looking for.
As a starting point, I'd have a look on the website of yuor local newspaper
I think it depends on what sort of jobs you are after - for example if you are in the education sector then your best job site is your county council website! or look on the jobcentre websites, and soe agency's advertise in their windows, although i think you would have to join the agency - which is not everybody's cup of tea i know. But dont forget your local newspapers job pages, they are usually fairly good.
Monster.co.uk is quite good. As said by others there are ones for certain job catergories too
Hi Eltee, I would suggest the following searchable sites where you can search for sector and location and register your cv:
totaljobs.com
monster.co.uk
topjobs.co.uk
jobserve.com
reed.co.uk
When looking for a job...I have went for main stream websites - such as above and more local ones...as sometimes companies only advertise or check one or two main sites. Of course as per vinnynice & sporty - if you are a specialist - then a specialist web site will be best for you...I am assuming you are after a general job. Good luck in the hunt....
the jobcentre website run by direct gov is great
monster.com is great
job rapido finds lots of jobs
jobsite.com is a good site
but you need to find out which caters best for the type of career you are looking for. for example job rapido finds lots of jobs in the service/hospitality industry
gumtree.com has thousands of ads as well. no one mentioned loot so far:). And i don't know how facebook could help you on that;)
It depends on what kind of job you are looking for but monster is the best one in general.
Try alljobsuk.com and myjobsearch.com. A few years ago, I did use alljobsuk and they came back with very lucrative jobs. I also had three companies look at my CV with possible interviews. - goodluck
i have found fish4jobs.co.uk and totaljobs.co.uk quite good. also dont forget the public sector,www.jobs.nhs.uk has a wide range of jobs, not just medical
fish 4 jobs is good
www.jobs.ac.uk is great, all the jobs in the higher education sector (everything from basic admin to vice chancellor's)
